Yes, it's very disturbing! I suspect it will only get worse as the 1% aren't going to voluntarily give up their 40%, and there's now no one else on earth is powerful enough to make them, not even the government, as the 1% fund the election campaigns :-(

The problem is not capitalism or free markets per se, but the fact that these elites are so powerful that they can manipulate and control governments through crony capitalism to stack the deck in their favor. If you really want to see where the power resides, you should check out the book 'The Creature from Jekyll Island' by G. Edward Griffen -- explains the origins and nature of the cartel known as the Federal Reserve.
